IF I LIVED ALONE

(Listen to the song; #4 on CHRISTIAN FOLKS)
If I lived alone I'd amuse myself within my mind; If I wanted to live. I'd travel through an empty world and never have to wait in line; or be willing to give.

Opening lines to my latest song recording IF I LIVED ALONE uploaded last night. "Sounds depressing" you might think. But there is a message of hope and fulfillment through Jesus Christ in it. The song was written circa 1980 and reflected how I felt after leaving my home and family in Maine and traveling 5000 miles to live my "dream" in California. Much to my surprise, a house on the beach, a tricked out van and a beautiful girl weren't awaiting me when I arrived!
The song is track number 4 on the album I'm working on called CHRISTIAN FOLKS. After the song came together I realized it's not much of a "folk" song, but I decided to leave it on that album anyway to add a bit of variety to the mix.
During the recording of this song, my wife Connie had an operation, and I had the privilege of staying home with her for a week. She was gracious enough to allow me a considerable amount of "studio time", so I extend my thanks and love to her for that! Well I'm still waiting for the Van and house on the beach, but I've finally got the beautiful blonde girl of my dreams!
Thanks for reading and I hope you'll find time to give the song a listen. It's in the number 1 position on the Songs page and also on the CHRISTIAN FOLKS album page at number 4.  God Bless!!!

IF I LIVED ALONE

Words and music by Reggie Michaud © 1995

If I lived alone, I’d amuse myself within my mind; If I wanted to live
Travel through an empty world and never have to wait in line; Or be willing to give

But you came along and filled me to the brim
Who would have thought that I could be born again

I can't imagine where I would be without You in my life; Jesus Lord

And I owe my life to You; Jehovah
Devote myself to You; Lord Jesus
For the glory of Your Name, Holy Father breathe in me
I'm alive; yes I am well; but not alone

If I lived alone I would stay at home and dream of days gone by; if I wanted to dream
I'd be living in the past shackled by the nightmare where I'm cast; in the devil's scheme

But You came along and helped me to see the light
I'll never spend another lonely night
Because I'm gonna live each day with You inside me in my heart; holy God

And I owe my life to You; Jehovah
I Devote myself to You; Lord Jesus
For the glory of Your Name, Holy Spirit filling me
I'm alive; yes I am well

And I owe my life to You; Jehovah
I Devote myself to You; Lord Jesus
For the glory of Your Name, Holy Father breathe in me
I'm alive; yes I am well; when You are near

You are near
